You do not need to do anything with the jacuzzi/spa yourself as clean water has been introduced, filters changed, and chemicals added. We do use chlorine in our tubs so if any of the guests have any allergies to this please let us know as soon as possible as we may be able to change it.

Our Engineers service and routinely maintain our jacuzzi/spa so you may get a visit your stay. It does not matter if you are physically present when they call as they do not need access to the villa at all. They will always be polite and try not to disturb your holiday too much.

Jacuzzi/spas are super easy to use, follow a few simple rules:

Here are some essential hot tub rules to ensure safety, hygiene, and maximum enjoyment for everyone:

General Safety

  1. Supervise Children: Always keep a close eye on children, and ensure they follow age and time guidelines.
  2. Time Limits: Limit sessions to 15-20 minutes to avoid overheating.
  3. Temperature Control: Keep the water temperature at or below 40°C (104°F) for adults and 35°C (95°F) for children.
  4. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as the heat can cause dehydration.
  5. No Diving or Submerging: Avoid jumping, diving, or putting your head underwater to reduce risks of injury or infections.

Hygiene

  1. Shower Before Entering: Rinse off to keep the water clean and prevent contamination.
  2. No Lotions or Oils: Avoid using oils, creams, or other products that can affect water quality.
  3. Appropriate Swimwear: Wear clean, proper swimwear to maintain hygiene.

Health Considerations

  1. Avoid if Pregnant or Unwell: Consult a doctor before using a hot tub if pregnant, or if you have health conditions like heart issues or high blood pressure.
  2. Alcohol and Hot Tubs Don’t Mix: Avoid consuming alcohol while in the hot tub, as it can increase dehydration and risk of fainting.

Care for the Hot Tub

  1. Follow Capacity Limits: Do not overcrowd the hot tub to maintain proper water circulation and safety.
  2. Turn Off Jets When Not in Use: This helps conserve energy and maintain water temperature.
  3. Secure the Cover: Always replace and secure the cover (if one is available) when not in use to keep the hot tub clean and safe.

By following these rules, you can ensure a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable hot tub experience for everyone!

The recommended age for children to use a hot tub varies, but most experts advise that children under 5 years old should avoid hot tubs altogether due to the risks of overheating and sensitive skin. For older children, it’s generally recommended to follow these guidelines:

  • Ages 5-12: They can use a hot tub, but only for short periods (5-10 minutes at a time) and at a lower temperature (no higher than 35°C / 95°F). Always supervise them closely.
  • Ages 13 and above: Teens can typically use hot tubs safely but should still limit their time to avoid overheating.

For all ages, hydration is essential, and kids should be taught not to submerge their heads to avoid risks like ear infections or water inhalation. Always check the specific hot tub's safety guidelines and consult with the villa host if needed.
